Lyrics that resonate “The Me”..

Songs are a source of imagination, power, dreams, motivations, and whatever that makes us give a sense of our being. For me, it is a journey that has made me think and do wonders throughout my life for a better life both personally and professionally. So, I’m writing this piece just to share my 5 best of them and maybe help someone who might be going through similar phases in life.

A New Level

Artist: Pantera

Line: Forget the past
Present tense works and lasts, and the chorus…

A new level
Of confidence
And power

The reason I like these lines, in particular, is the fact throughout my life I used to get stuck in nostalgia and it was difficult for me to get out of it because it is true that all we have is today and yesterday is gone. Good or Bad? It’s just an experience, so let us be stronger and focus on TODAY!

Phil Knows Best.

Be Yourself

Artist: Audioslave

Line: And be yourself is all that you can do
To be yourself is all that you can do…

Every line Chris Cornell sings is wisdom for me but none hits truer than the above. The way I see is that we often lament, seek acceptance, and are very keen on what the world perceives about us? If we would be able to impress someone we like? etc. The bottom line and my question is WHAT’S THE POINT? If you’re not being you, how long one can tapout to a submission that inhibits our nature.

(Sic)

Artist: Slipknot

Line: Enemy, show me what you wanna be
I can handle anything
Even if I can’t handle you
Readily, either way it better be…

I’m a short guy clicking 5’4 inches vertically(LOL!), so I've been subject to being a laughing stock and also getting trolled due to my height. Initially, I would get overlooked by sports coaches but after 3 years in training and a constant healthy diet, I turned out to be the centre back for my soccer team, all credits to the above.

Bulls On Parade

Artist: Rage Against The Machine

Line: Weapons not food, not homes, not shoes
Not need, just feed the war cannibal animal
I walk tha corner to tha rubble that used to be a library
Line up to tha mind cemetery now

These lines scream the circumstances lesser privileged countries have to go through. I can comprehend the inner depth of blood spill they eject as I come from an international border area myself, so every ounce of these words are facts in their truest sense.

Wish you were here

Artist: Pink Floyd

Line: We’re just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl
Year after year
Running over the same old ground
What have we found?
The same old fears
Wish you were here

This song reminds me for all the conscience and what’s right, there’s always the element of getting lost in small things which amuses me to wonder it's all the same and we are just circling around the same corners. Plus, I’m a big Pink Floyd fan, every song is near to the soul.

These are some among many that are near because if you love music and you love writing, alphabets and their colors are an imprint of us in our truest form.
